Most voice generators send your script, and often your voice, to a server. Avocado does the work on your Mac instead.
What stays on your Mac
- The scripts you type
- Recordings you make or import for cloning and training
- Voices you clone, design, mix or train
- Every take you generate, in your projects and history
When you export a take, it goes only where you save it.
What goes online
Avocado goes online for two things: checking for updates, which happens automatically only if you turn it on, and sending feedback or a bug report that you write yourself. A report includes the message you typed, an email address if you add one, and basic details like the app and macOS version. Your scripts, audio and voice names are never attached.
Usage and diagnostics sharing is off until you make a choice. If you turn it on, it covers how the app is used and whether things went wrong, never what you made.

Your models, on your Mac
Avocado works with open voice models that you add to your Mac yourself, from the people who made them. Each model keeps its maker’s licence, so check their page before you publish anything you create.
