A scene needs more than voices. Avocado can also make the sounds around them.

Describe the sound

Instead of a script, write a description of the sound: “heavy rain on a tin roof with distant thunder”, “a busy café at lunchtime”, “footsteps on gravel”. Set the duration and press Generate.

Keep it with your project

Each sound is saved as a take, so you can replay it, regenerate it, tag it and file it in the same project as your narration or dialogue.

Export and use

Export sounds as WAV, AIFF or M4A, or drag a take straight into your editor.

Questions

How long can a sound be?

From 1 to 60 seconds. The default is 10 seconds.

What do I need?

The MOSS Sound Effect model from OpenMOSS, added to your Mac. It is a large model, so it needs a Mac with plenty of memory; 32 GB or more is a comfortable fit.

Can I mix sound effects with speech?

Avocado makes each sound as its own take. Export it as WAV, AIFF or M4A, or drag it out, and combine it with your voice takes in your audio or video editor.
